"so what is your perception of me?"

i already know what she was gossiping about with her friends in the cafeteria or on the phone with nesy. questions like this popped out of nowhere all the time once she was out in the wild with her troops.

sometimes she needed reassurance and sometimes she was just curious.

it all depend on her many moods.

but every time you have to act like the conversation is the most important thing in the world, forget about your uncle's divorce or the intricacies of money spending or the slum child who got his arms cut off.

it's all about playing your cards right and not giving away too much.

"what does that mean? what do you mean by "perception" exactly?"

"it means what you think of me as a person, not as your girl or whatever"

"i don't know. i mean, is that the kind of question you ask out of the blue like that and demand an answer right away. shouldn't i need to think about it for some time."

"you don't have to think about anything. just tell me honestly"

"hmmm"

"just say the first thing that popped out of your head when i ask you the question, Ok"

of course, you know already...

we're in trouble.
